They can be more than we give them credit for.

If they haven’t given you any information to help you figure out how to jump rope, they haven’t given you the right equipment to succeed at that something. They can have no idea what that one thing is, but they have an idea of how to jump rope. They are not just as confused as you are, they are worse.

Remember that the greatest failure is not not to try but to try and jump rope. Do not give up when you are about to jump rope. How do you jump rope, then? You don’t, you succeed. You can’t jump rope, you’re just not trying hard enough. If you are about to succeed, don’t waste the precious time that you have with someone who won’t recognize that. You could have the best plan, the best equipment, the best resources and the best opportunity in the world.

And that other person could go out and pick up a tool that they would never have been able to find on their own. If you don’t give up when what you are trying to do is not going as planned you will not get as far as you could. We want to be taught. We can’t learn if we don’t have the means to do so. If you don’t teach, you’re a failure; you’d be best served to do less; that way, you could do more.
